Daniel Crowder, PhD, MBA
Founder, Crowder Consulting
Before starting Crowder Consulting, I led recruiting and leadership development within a growing organization. I designed and delivered training for executives, managers, and emerging leaders.
While pursuing a PhD in leadership studies, I began learning how leaders actually develop across the lifespan. That work is grounded in well-established human development theory, but what stood out to me was how clearly it applies to leadership. I saw that leaders are not developed in isolated moments or programs—they develop through stages, experiences, and relationships over time. That realization changed the way I think about developing leaders and became the foundation of my dissertation and ongoing research.
Today, I work with businesses, nonprofits, and churches to better understand their leaders—helping them make wiser decisions about who to hire, who to promote, and how to develop leaders at every level of the organization. I also present research-driven insights that help align thinking and strengthen how leadership is approached across the organization. The goal is simple: help organizations develop the right leaders, in the right way, at the right time.
Outside of the work, I’m a husband and a father to two young boys. I enjoy playing golf, following SEC sports, and staying involved in my local church. I would welcome the opportunity to talk more about how I can support you and your organization.
A Better Way to Think About Leader Development
Our Approach
Crowder Consulting helps organizations develop leaders with clarity, direction, and confidence in the decisions they make. Our work is grounded in doctoral research focused on how leaders actually develop across the lifespan.
Most leadership development focuses on programs, content, and short-term outcomes. Our approach is different. We focus on leader development—understanding where a leader is, how they’ve developed over time, and what they need next to grow into greater responsibility. That shift changes everything: how leaders are assessed, how they are supported, and how development decisions are made.
Through the Leader Blueprint, Strategic Leader Briefings, and Leader Development Pathways, we provide clear insight, shared understanding, and structured direction—helping organizations move beyond assumptions and develop leaders in a way that is intentional, aligned, and built to last.
